Dr. Chen received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tuffs University in Medford with an emphasis in Biology and then receiving his M.A. and medical degrees from the Chicago Medical School North Chicago.

He earned his residency training in Ophthalmology at Ohio State University in Columbus. Seeking additional sub-specialty training in peri-ocular plastic surgery, Dr. Chen did his training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland and at the Shanghai No. 9 Hospital in China.
