Dr. Brinks is certified in general ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is also a member of the American Public Health Association and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Dr. Brinks' passion for service and care for patients has taken him across the globe, including Guatemala, Micronesia, New Zealand, Samoa, and Timor.

Dr. Brinks believes in involving patients in their own eye care by giving them as much information as they desire about treatments and alternatives.

"I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to practice ophthalmology for the past seventeen years. This field allows me to get to know my patients and their families while providing nearly every aspect of eye care they will ever need. As an avid researcher and scientist, I continue to look for new ways to help my patients. This research background also strengthens my ability to scrutinize the scientific literature to tailor medical and surgical treatments to individual patient's needs.
